Ace Frehley Sparks Uprising Upon the End Of The Road Kickoff

Hard rock legends KISS have officially kicked off their “End of the Road” Tour, but not without a vast amount of controversy. The KISS camp is under fire (as if they weren’t already) for statements made against former superstar guitarist Ace Frehley. Frehley, in retaliation, took to Facebook on Tuesday evening to clear up many of the alleged issues that former bandmate Gene Simmons harped on. The timing couldn’t be any worse for KISS, but has come at no better time for Frehley.

Frehley (middle) was the band’s guitarist during the 70s/early 80s and is widely considered a fan favorite.

Bassist and Co-vocalist Gene Simmons spoke with Guitar World early this week, where he stated former members Ace Frehley and drummer Peter Criss would not be joining the band for the final tour. According to Simmons, “Life doesn’t give you three chances. You get one chance. But Ace and Peter have gotten three chances.” Simmons goes on to say that “They were in and out of the band, three times. For drugs, alcohol, bad behavior, being unprofessional.” Simmons, in closing, states that “they didn’t carry their load”. Both Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons have opened the door for Frehley and Criss to join the band “here and there”, but that neither of them are capable of performing night in and night out. “They’re never going to be in KISS again.”

Frehley, who has seemingly been rebuilding his relationship with both Paul and Gene as of recent, reacted to Simmons’ comments via Facebook.
“…Gene, your memory is really incorrect!…I was NEVER FIRED from KISS, I quit twice (not 3-times) of my own free will, because you and Paul are control freaks, untrustworthy and were too difficult to work with!
…Your slanderous remarks about my bad habits over the years has cost me millions of dollars and now that I’m over 12-years sober you’re still saying I can’t be trusted to play a whole nights show! Well that’s exactly what I’ve been doing for the last 12-years with different configurations of “The Ace Frehley Band” to you and Paul’s dismay!
…I’m also the most successful solo artist to come out of the original KISS lineup , and proud of it!…You and Paul have tried to derail my solo career multiple times over the years unsuccessfully.
…I’ve tried to be nice and friendly by inviting you and Paul to perform on my past albums for eOne Music, give each of you guys one of my prized Gibson Les Paul 59’ models, but today’s comments have made me realize you’re just an a**hole and a sex addict who’s being sued by multiple Women, and you’re just trying to sweep it all under the carpet!
…The icing on the cake was when you groped my wife and propositioned her in Los Angeles at the Capitol Records building behind my back, when I was trying to help you out at one of your “Vault Experiences” which I only found out about several weeks later…she was planning on pursuing a suit against you, but I told her to call it off!!!
…Well now the gloves are off after your terrible comments today and I’m thinking that this really may be “The End Of The Road Tour” for you guys!!!
….Without a complete and heartfelt apology, an offer to give me my old job back, and removing Tommy from the Throne that I created… THE SH*T WILL HIT THE FAN AND THEY’LL BE NO STOPPING IT-IT’S ON!!!”
Frehley included this picture with the post via Facebook.

Frehley’s long time partner, Rachel Gordon, followed with a post of her own on Facebook.
“Let me tell you.
They tried to have Ace killed in the 70’s. Tried sending him to a so called ‘private party’ in the Bahamas.
Ace is VERY sober now and knows what’s happening.
He sees things clearly now.
He doesn’t need a chain of low brow restaurants; he plays the guitar. That’s what he does.

Of both posts come a variety of allegations, including another allegation of sexual misconduct against Gene Simmons. Simmons is being sued in a separate case involving groping from 2016. If this allegation and the claim that KISS attempted to assassinate Frehley is true, we could be all but witnessing the beginning of something much bigger than KISS ever thought to be. One thing is for sure, the taste in Frehley’s mouth towards his former bandmates is becoming more sour by the minute. While the End of the Road Tour has officially began, Frehley has also embarked on a tour of his own in support of his “Spaceman” album. You can purchase/stream it here.
