This tour seems like a great opportunity for aspiring drummers that want to hone in on their craft, what do you want people to get out of this experience?

Whenever I teach lessons or clinics, I always try to keep a very open and relaxed environment. I want everyone to feel comfortable to just be themselves and ask any questions they may have. We’re all here to learn, myself included!

What made you want to join the tour?

I’ve always been passionate about doing a clinic run and when my guys at SJC presented the offer I was immediately down.

Is this your first time running a workshop?

This isn’t my first time running a workshop, but the Loyal To The Craft Tour is totally different. It’s much more community based which is something I’m really into and looking forward to.

How do you think your experience in the industry will help those who attend the workshops?

I’ve been doing studio work and touring for a decade now, so I’m excited for the chance to pass down any knowledge I can to our community. I’m always open to any questions about the industry because I know it can be difficult to navigate at first.

Looking at last years’ tour, it seems like the workshops can gather quite an audience, how will you manage to meet with so many people and still give them an intimate experience?

Josh Manuel of ISSUES is widely regarded as one of the most elite drummers in the music scene

Meeting everyone is probably the part I’m looking forward to the most. Whenever I’m touring with Issues, we always make an effort to go our merch table to meet and hang with fans every night.

What kind of age range does the tour see? Is the demographic typically younger, or is this something an aged group would benefit from as well?

I’m hoping for a wide range of ages! I plan on covering lots of material from all skill groups.

Is there a certain skill level that gravitates toward the workshops, or drummers of all abilities?

Typically when I’m teaching lessons on tour I work with musicians who have been playing anywhere from 5 to 20 years. I’m definitely open to all skill groups!

The tour includes local bands at each stop, has there been any announced yet? How do you think this tour will benefit them as well?

I’m really looking forward to checking out the local bands. I think they will help create the right kind of atmosphere for the tour.

What message would you like to get across to those who want to pursue a career as a drummer?

Having a career as a drummer means you have to be multifaceted. It’s all about practice and consistency. Come to one of the clinics and check it out!

What does this tour mean to you?

This tour means a ton to me personally because I’ve wanted to do something like this for so long. I’m counting down the days!
